Why am I shaving??

I’ve been growing my hair since Year 7 because I always knew I wanted to shave it in Year 12 for the World’s Greatest Shave. Over the years at Merewether, I’ve seen incredible people stand up for things that matter, and I wanted to do the same in my own way. My hair is finally long enough to be donated for wigs, and if I reach $1000, I’ll shave it completely. Hair grows back, but the chance to make someone feel stronger, braver, or a little less alone doesn’t come around every day. I know it'll take a while for my hair to grown back to the length it is currently, but that’s nothing compared to what families living with blood cancer face. I just want to use what I have to help someone else, even if it’s something as simple as my hair. Thank you for supporting me, it truly means a lot.
