Help me take a stand against blood cancer

Right now, over 170,000 Australians are facing the heartbreaking impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day. 

That’s why I’m taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave and cutting nearly 11 inches (30cm) of my hair to donate to sustainable salons, where it will be made into wigs to bring comfort and confidence to people battling blood cancer. By donating to my page, you’ll help me raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, supporting life-changing research and care for patients and their families

Thursday 12th Mar
If you had asked younger me to cut her hair, she would've been like 'no way!' And started crying. Because that's how attached I was to my hair (and I still am 😅). At the ripe age of 5-6 (no 67 here), I was crying watching my mum get a haircut, yelling at them to glue it back on. 

Now I'm here, volunteering to chop over 20cm of my hair for the World's Greatest Shave, and it's been one of the first things to show me my own personal growth. Because the plain reality is appearances make up a lot of our lives. And hair can bring us comfort, happiness and so much more. I was always blessed with thick healthy hair - while others are fighting cancer and losing their hair to chemo.

Cutting my hair is truly the least I can do, but it could be lifechanging for someone else - and your donation and support could do the same. 

So, to that little 5 year old Tharnika who cried for her mother cutting her hair - I'm proud of you, and let's make a difference ❤️
