Help me take a stand against blood cancer!

I’ve been growing my hair for six years. Literally half my life. It’s been through the awkward stages, the “are you a surfer?” jokes, the knots, the heat, all of it. And honestly, I’ve always been kind of proud of it. It became a part of who I am.

But the whole time, I always knew I wasn’t keeping it forever.

I decided years ago that when it finally got long enough, I’d shave it for blood cancer. I’ve seen what cancer does to people—how fast it can take over, how tough the treatments are, and how it can hit families out of nowhere. Even though it wasn’t happening to me directly, it still stuck with me. It made me want to do something that actually mattered, even if it wasn’t huge.

So now, after six years of growing this mop, it’s time. I’m shaving it off to raise awareness, to raise money, and to show some kind of support for the people who don’t get a choice about losing theirs.

People keep asking me if I’m nervous, and yeah—I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t. It’s a big change. But it feels right. If me losing my hair for a bit can help someone keep fighting, then it’s worth it a million times over.

This is why I’m shaving my head. For blood cancer. For the people going through it. And for the promise I made to myself six years ago.
