Help me take a stand against blood cancer
Hello,
I am a final year PhD student, studying blood cancer at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, Melbourne, Australia, and will have my head shaved by one of my supervisors!
My specific project examines a protein called MCL-1, and how inhibiting this protein can kill blood cancers, whilst trying to leave healthy tissues intact.
My PhD is funded by the Leukaemia Foundation, and this is my small way of giving back. Through them I've engaged with many people affected by blood cancer, and I am constantly inspired by their resilience and character. It's a constant reminder of why us scientists do the research we do.
Scientific progress is a rather careful (and slow) process, and requires constant funding across many years to yield breakthroughs. So please donate to my page (or WEHI's page) to support blood cancer research, and those affected by this disease.
