Bodhi's Brave Shave

Bodhi will be turning three this March. Recently, like many curious little kids, he got his hands on something he shouldn’t have - Dad’s hair clippers. A few seconds later, half his head was shaved. 

In our Nepalese culture, a boy’s head isn’t shaved until a sacred ceremony called Bratabandha, when the maternal uncle performs the first shave. Because of this, what happened felt especially significant for our family. Bodhi was upset, his mum was heartbroken, and there were tears all around. 

We couldn’t leave him with half a haircut, so today Bodhi and Dad shaved our heads together. What could have been just a sad moment has now become something meaningful, and we’re turning it into a fundraiser. 

We’re raising funds through the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave to support children and families facing challenges far greater than a haircut. Right now, over 170,000 Australians are living with blood cancer, and 17 lives are lost every single day. By donating to this page, you’ll help fund life-changing research and provide vital support services for patients and their families when they need it most. 

Any donation - big or small - will make a real, tangible difference.
