My 'Why'
Twelve years ago, I shaved all my hair off and donated it for the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave.
A lot has changed for the better since then: the music of LMFAO is long gone, skinny jeans now give people the ick, and renewable energy has come on in leaps and bounds.
But other things have stayed the same. My friends and family continue to have their worlds' rocked by cancer and Leukaemia is still prominent. It's shocking to read that in 2026, over 170,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.
So I'm shaving my hair again, in the hope that we can raise more funds and make a change. Hair grows back, but the act of cutting it all off can feel a little daunting. Having said that, what a privilege to feel a little uncomfortable when so many people are facing far worse than a bad haircut.
I'm proud to be part of Adelaide Botanic High School's mission to inspire others to donate to the truly worthy cause of World's Greatest Shave. Thank you for supporting me, supporting our school, and most importantly, supporting the thousands of Australians living with blood cancer every day.
