'I went to the NOWDTC La Dispute gig and all I got was this awesome haircut!'
Right now, over 170,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day. That’s why we're taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave.
In the spirit of community care, support and social justice of which La Dispute has worked tirelessly to foster throughout the years, it felt right to continue the legacy of platforming community support organisations at their gigs.
With 'I Shaved My Head' being the opening track to the touring album, the Leukaemia Foundation was the natural choice to include this time around.
We know that cutting, dying and shaving your hair basically comes with the cultural territory for alternative music listeners, so we hope that you will take the opportunity to do these things in the name of raising awareness and funds for blood cancer research, while also building solidarity with each other as passionate fans of La Dispute and everything this band stands for.
We are currently working on setting up a shaving station at Moore Park on the day of the Sydney show at Liberty Hall (October 23rd) for anyone who would like to get their head shaved on the day. Further updates will be provided, but if you're interested in getting your head shaved on the day please let us know, so we can determine the best time to set up and get through everyone comfortably!
