Help me take a stand against blood cancer
53,500 Australians lose their lives to cancer every year.*
One of them was my grandpa.
To the world, he was one person.
To me, he was everything.
He was my best friend.
My exercise buddy.
The person who could make me laugh until my cheeks hurt.
The one who was always there to play with me, cheer me on, and make every ordinary day feel special.
The day after my 7th birthday, cancer took him away.
I was too young to understand why someone so important could suddenly be gone.
All I knew was that I wanted one more hug.
One more laugh.
One more walk together.
I still do.
Not a single day has gone by without me thinking about him.
In November 2024, I made him a promise.
On 14 November 2026 — the day after my 13th birthday — I’ll be donating my hair in his memory.
This isn’t easy.
I’ve spent years growing my hair, and I love it.
But I would give up every strand without hesitation if it meant helping someone else facing cancer.
I’m donating it so it can be made into a wig for someone going through treatment. I hope it helps them feel a little more like themselves during one of the hardest times of their life.
Because cancer doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed.
It changes entire families.
It steals birthdays.
It steals memories.
It steals the chance to grow up with the people you love.
That’s why I’m also raising money to support cancer research, patient care, and support services.
Every donation—no matter how big or small—helps bring hope to families who are living through what mine did.
* $20 can help provide support for patients and their families.
* $50 can help fund practical care and support programs.
* $100 or more helps drive research toward better treatments and a future with fewer lives lost to cancer.
I can’t bring my grandpa back.
I can’t celebrate another birthday with him.
I can’t hear his laugh again.
I can’t tell him how much I miss him.
But I can honour the promise I made to him.
I can turn my grief into something that gives someone else hope.
If my hair can help one person smile…
If your donation can help one family spend a little more time together…
Then together, we’ve made a difference.
Please consider making a donation today.
Help me honour my grandpa’s memory.Help give families more birthdays, more hugs, more laughter, and more time together.
Because no child should have to lose their best friend too soon.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
