Help me take a stand against blood cancer

Hello Everyone,

For me cancer is a very personal subject. 

In 2016, my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I have vivid memories of what that year looked like; from the hospital visits to the increased use of sanitisers and vaccinations. Life felt different and I didn’t exactly know why. Fortunately, she was cured and is now 10 years free!


However, a close friend of my Mum’s died in 2020 who had a daughter in my year. I will never forget the emotion that this brought to my year group and my family in my last year of Primary School. I remember being sat down by the teachers while we were on a school camp telling us that there was not long left. I will never forget seeing a group of 11 & 12 year olds crying on each others shoulders and embracing each other in what was an extremely difficult time.


Although this fundraiser focuses on Leukaemia and not breast cancer, my experience with the disease has shaped my view on the importance on raising awareness for all cancers. Tackling cancer takes all of us, so any money will be appreciated and I’m looking forward to bringing back the buzz! Cheers.
