Right now, more than 170,000 Australians are living with blood cancer, and 17 lives are lost every single day to this devastating disease.
This year, I’m taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave to help change that. Like so many others, I carry the scars of losing friends and loved ones to cancer. And with my own little battle, I’ve seen first hand just how critical support, research, and dedicated medical teams are in the fight against this illness.
I’m shaving to honour those we’ve lost, to support those still fighting, and to help ensure that my colleagues, friends, and family—now and in the future—may be spared from hearing the words, “You have blood cancer.” There is no harder conversation to have.
