Help me take a stand against blood cancer
I'm taking part in Shave for a Cure to help raise funds for cancer research and support services.
Cancer has affected me personally. I have had loved ones who have suffered, and like so many families, cancer has left a lasting impact on my life.
Recently, I read an article about a brave little 2-year-old boy named River (Riv) who was diagnosed with leukaemia. After almost 7 months of pure strength, resilience, determination, courage and fight finally it was Riv's turn to ring the celebration bell at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and is now living his best life.
That story truly touched my heart - especially because my 3 year old grandson's name is Ryver (Ryv). The connection was instant, and resonated deeply with me. From that moment on I wanted to do something meaningful. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Why I'm Shaving❤
By shaving my head, I'm standing in solidarity with everyone affected by cancer - the fighters, the survivors, the families, and those we've lost. It's a small gesture, but it represents hope, support, and a committment to change.
