Help me take a stand against blood cancer

Right now, over 170,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.  My aunty Emma was one of those 17 in 2010, so I never even got to meet her.

That’s why I’m taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave. By donating to my page, you’ll help me raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, and fuel life-changing research projects and support services for patients and their families.

Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference.

Aunty Emma’s Story

Thursday 10th Sep
Emma was diagnosed with Leukaemia on the 24th November 2008, when she was 28 wks pregnant with her first child. Given the aggressiveness of her particular type of leukaemia, her baby had to be born immediately or they would both die.
Baby Riley did well for 7 weeks, and was nearly able to go home, when tragically he died. Emma was nearly broken but vowed to fight on in his memory.
Emma was in remission and things looked hopeful.
After a cord blood transplant Emma became very weak. When the cancer returned, she was too weak for more chemo and was back at the original prognosis, which was that without chemo, she had 7 days to live at most.
Emma kept going that week, slowly losing strength, smiling her last smile for her first  niece, baby Sophie,  before joining her own baby boy in heaven on the 30th June, 2010.
