Help me take a stand against blood cancer
In 2023, both my Uncle Pat and Pop were fighting cancer. Different types, but equally as horrible.
Uncle Pat was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and faced a huge operation to replace half of his pelvis with a Titanium plate. The largest hemipelvectomy in Australia ever to be performed. He underwent intense chemotherapy and had to learn to walk again. He has defied the odds and recently was able to snowboard again for the first time since diagnosis. He amazes me everyday.
Pop had been battling 4 different types of Cancer since 2009 (before I was even born) and devastatingly passed away last year. He fought so hard for 15 years and was the strongest man I know. I miss him every day.
I want to shave my head in honour of both of their incredible fights and for all of the other cancer sufferers and survivors out there.
Right now, over 150,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.
That’s why I’m taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave. By donating to my page, you’ll help me raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, and fuel life-changing research projects and support services for patients and their families.
