In the future, when cars fly and dogs talk or whatever, I would like to say I contributed to the eradication of blood cancer. I wish the world sees the day when the definition changes to "Leukemia was a term for cancers of blood cells," in the same way smallpox had (search it up, it's true!).
I have experienced what this cancer does to a family. There were sleepless nights, broken hearts, and many, many tears—those shed and those bottled down. But in it, there was hope, and an undying strength. I cherished every small connection we had, took on the duties of a sister and a daughter—as they say, "a heart's a heavy burden". I learnt how blessed I was to have such a loving family. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to donate my own stem cells to my loved one, and in doing that, I realised I can help. I can make a difference in this world, so that no human being would have to suffer, no family would have to cry, and no friend would have to worry, from the ordeal of blood cancer, like we did.
