Help me take a stand against blood cancer
February 9th 2015 was when I received the call. You need to go to hospital, you have leukaemia and your platelet and white blood cell counts are practically zero.
What followed was nearly 7 weeks in hospital followed by daily hospital visits for 4-5 weeks at a time, as well as regular blood tests and ongoing medication for the next 5 years. The strain on you both physically and mentally is exhausting.
This will be my 11th year doing the World's Greatest Shave. It's not just to raise awareness and the hope of finding a cure, it's for the support of those that are diagnosed and the help that the Leukaemia Foundation can bring to those people.
