Help me take a stand against blood cancer

June 26th 2026 my three year old son Jack was diagnosed with leukaemia. He has spent the better part of the last three years fighting cancer and we've all been in his corner.

I've watched him lose the ability to walk, lose his hair but he's never stopped being my dinosaur loving crazy boy. 

I'm going to cut most of my hair off in support.

Instead of any birthday presents, please consider donating the money instead. 

I'll be buying plenty of beanies and scarves for the Winter months 😅

I never know how to write this because it's just a reminder of the worst time of our lives. After a cancer diagnosis, life goes on for everyone. The mortgage is due, bills come in, paying double for petrol, doubling food bills and increasing electricity bills trying to keep the house warm 24/7. But you don't really get a choice to stop working and focus solely on your child. You have to go back to work, you have to swallow your pride and ask charities for financial support because you can't work full time. You work one hour in hospital then play for two hours and work one hour and then that's it. That's on a good day of making very minimal money whilst entertaining your child. Your electricity bills double because you're home all the time and keeping the house warm. Just in case your child gets sick because of course they will because they don't have an immune system anymore. Your life stops but everything else continues and we've relied on charities constantly just to get through. I never thought I'd need a go fund me or support to pay for petrol, I never thought I'd have to rely on $130 fortnightly Centrelink payments just to pay for the additional food from Jacks steroids. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far, your kind and generosity is so heart warming. You're paying for someone to spend another hour with their child, to be able to fill up their tank before another emergency trip to hospital and not having to decide whether you can afford to put the heater on!
