Help me take a stand against blood cancer
This year, I’m taking on the World’s Greatest Shave for someone very close to my heart — my husband, David.
David was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) last year, and life has shifted in ways we never expected.
In a powerful show of strength and solidarity as David undertakes a bone marrow transplant this June — David and I have decided to shaves our heads — not just to stand beside him as he starts intense chemo (and will likely loose his hair), but to raise awareness and funds to support others walking this incredibly tough path.
Right now, over 170,000 Australians are living with blood cancer, and sadly, 17 people lose their life every single day. It’s a reality that now feels very close to home.
That’s why I’m supporting the Leukaemia Foundation — an organisation that provides vital support to families like ours, while also funding life-changing research to improve outcomes for people diagnosed with blood cancers.
