why????

guys. this is such a good cause. i know that i don’t even need to convince you of that, because EVERYONE has a personal story about cancer. everyone knows at LEAST one person who’s experienced cancer; yet we still have a long way to go to find a cure. 

ONE MASSIVE THING THAT HELPS IS DONATING TO FUND RESEARCH 👀

now. you may ask - why leukemia specifically? it would be terrible to say that one kind of cancer is worse - or more worth fighting - than another type of cancer; because we all know the truth: every cancer sucks. 

though, something that drew me to raising money specifically for leukemia is that it’s the most common cancer in kids. 

these are kids exactly like us, who are just genetically predisposed to go through cancer, and then tough out everything that cancer takes from their lives . personally, the ‘luck of the draw’ sense around leukemia in kids specifically angers me - hence why i’m so set on a full shave.

BUT WHY A FULL SHAVE? WHAT’S THAT GOING TO DO?

hair loss for people with cancer - especially young people; particularly girls - can be really isolating, scary, and even embarrassing. 

though HAIR IS JUST HAIR - it’s no secret that the way we look is a massive representation of who we are. when the vibe around being bald is generally negative, doesn’t it make sense that it would be distressing to have to lose all your hair for treatment?

shaving my head is something that i will proudly do for this cause (even if i don’t rock it). this is not only to donate my hair for a weave, but also to try make it less weird for girls to be bald / have very short hair (because why is that even considered weird?). what i mean is that theres always SOO many haters when a girl has short hair, but for what? let a girl be bald, you know?

hopefully, if we did just that - if we let a girl (me) be bald - maybe, just maybe, there could be even one person who felt marginally less alone on their cancer journey.

so let me be bald. donate. right. now. i’m ready to be a skinhead. lets go.
