Patient to Advocate: My Journey and cause
I’ll be cutting my hair this year to raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia Foundation. But for me, this event is more than just a fundraiser, it’s deeply personal.
As a child, I was diagnosed with neutropenia, a condition that required me to undergo chemotherapy for a few days and receive a bone marrow transplant. During that time, I spent a lot of time in hospital and became friends with several others, many of whom were undergoing treatments.
Seeing what they went through and remembering the strength and resilience of those patients has stayed with me. That’s why I’ve chosen to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave, to honour them and to give back to a cause that’s supported so many families like mine.
Great work Isabella!!!
