Help me take a stand against blood cancer

Right now, over 170,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.

That’s why I’m taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave. By donating to my page, you’ll help me raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, and fuel life-changing research projects and support services for patients and their families.

Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference. I've marked in a modest target, but I'm sure we can far exceed it! Thanks for your support.

What colour should I try before I shave my hair?

Help me earn the Place to Stay badge. That's enough to give a regional family a week of free accommodation to stay close to treatment.

I’m $210 away from my next impact milestone. Please help me reach it.

My Updates

Shaved!

Friday 3rd Jul
Thank you so much for all your donations, we're at $350 now and there as still some more trickling in. Keep it coming!

I did take note of the recolouring poll, there was a draw between purple and "make it a surprise". Problem was, my hair took a dislike to the bleaching cycles, it was drying out badly and it did require a bleach before every colour, as my natural colour is very dark. Really dry hair just breaks, literally. So that wouldn't be any good.
So I'll owe you that for the next time I grow my hair out, and I promise to try purple then!

Today I got my "clipper 0", which is what most people regard as a head shave. My shave by Linus at Linux.conf.au 2009 was a full one, with first his clippers and then a long operation using shaving blades by my good friend John Dalton.

There is a video of today's shave, I just need a young individual to turn it into a short time-lapse with nice backing music. I can do video editing on a Linux desktop, but the youngsters are very skilled on the phone :)  I'll post it as soon as possible.
