In Memoriam
During my time at my previous school, Trinity Anglican College in Albury-Wodonga, one boy in my year level stood out immediately to everyone who knew him: Hunter McBurnie. Everyone knew him as a fun and kind friend, who was always willing to listen and be there for anyone. During his primary school years, he developed Leukemia, which he battled bravely for many years until he lost his battle at an age too young, only 14.
During his battle, my old school held a World's Greatest Shave event, which raised a significant fund for those suffering from Leukemia. Since the day he passed, I have had the deepest regret about not shaving then, while he was still alive. So I am shaving now, to honour the life of a caring and innocent soul this cruel disease stole from my cohort those years ago.
