Our checkpoints
Our team has set some extra goals in our fundraising journey. Help us raise the amounts below to see us make our checkpoints happen!
Our Idea and Process of Educating Students
Right now, thousands of Australians are living with blood cancer, and behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a community affected by it.
That’s why I wanted to bring the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave to PBAS. As a student who strives to become a future School Captain, I believe leadership is about creating opportunities for students to learn about important issues and use our school community to make a difference. I believe educating our students about blood cancer and the impact it has on Australian families is an important way we can do this.
Our goal is to make this more than just a fundraising event. In the lead-up, students will have the opportunity to learn about blood cancer and the work of the Leukaemia Foundation while engaging in fundraising events.
In early June (mid-Term 2), high school students and staff will have the opportunity to cut or shave their hair to donate. Suitable hair will be used to make wigs, while hair that is too short for wigs can be made into hair blooms, which help absorb oil from waterways and oceans. Our primary students will also get involved by taking part in a Crazy Hair Day.
Together, we have set an ambitious goal of $20,000. It’s a big target, but I believe that with the support of our students, staff, families and wider community, PBAS can make a real difference.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, can help our school community make a real difference. Let’s come together, get behind the cause and show what our school is capable of.
