I’m not just shaving to meet the ambitious challenge of single-handedly raising $10,000 my dubious principal set before me. I’m shaving in honour of my uncle, who bravely battled leukaemia. I’m shaving in memory of my grandmother, who faced two different cancers. And I’m shaving for every patient lying in a hospital bed today, fighting for a tomorrow. Because right now, over 150,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.
That’s why I’m taking on the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave. For many, losing your hair isn’t a choice—it’s a side effect of fighting for your life. So I’ll lose mine, willingly, in solidarity.
