Help us take a stand against blood cancer
In December 2019, Josh was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He began treatment in 2020 and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant using his own cells, entering remission shortly after.
In mid 2021, it was revealed that Josh’s lymphoma had returned, and he required a donated bone marrow transplant. As Hobart could not provide this treatment, we chose Brisbane, closest to where his sister Ella, the donor, was living at the time. The transplant initially went well, but unfortunately Josh’s body rejected the donated cells, and we returned home in March 2022.
Josh’s health declined significantly over the year, and while Brisbane offered another transplant scheduled for November 2022, he was too unwell to undergo the procedure.
Throughout this journey, the Leukaemia Foundation has been an incredible support, providing accommodation, transport, food vouchers, and ongoing assistance that we continue to rely on today.
Now, as a family, we invite you to join us in supporting this life-changing cause. Come along to A Day for Josh, featuring the greatest shave, with multiple legends taking part in shaves, colours and cuts, live music, lucky door prizes, raffles, and an auction.
We hope to see you at The Longley International on February 28th for our third annual event! Your continued support makes a real difference.
