Why I am doing this
Cancer - what a terrible disease. If you really know me, you’d know my name is Lucy June Kilner. My beautiful middle name ‘June’ is from my grandmother who I never got to meet because she unfortunately passed away from cancer. As well as her, I lost someone much closer to me, my beautiful mum.
When I was 10, mum passed from cancer, though very ill, she managed to always remain brave, humble and kind in everything she did and I want to be just like her.
I remember in her final days, to let her off with a bang, many of my close family friends, her besties hosted a fundraiser “Live life like Sal”. I think it’s my turn now to add my own twist to this, and make it “Live life like mum” by being brave and stepping out of my comfort zone to do something I love for someone I love.
