Help me take a stand against blood cancer
At Ararat College, we’re really proud to be part of a community that supports each other. In 2026, our school is planning to take part in a national fundraising campaign to help raise awareness and money for Australians affected by blood cancer.
Blood cancers like leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma affect thousands of families every year. By getting involved, our students and staff will be helping support the work of the Leukaemia Foundation, which helps families by providing accommodation, emotional support and funding important research.
Being in a regional town like Ararat, community means a lot to us. Our school really values things like looking out for others, showing leadership and helping where we can. This is a really good opportunity for students to show those values in real life and make a difference outside of school.
Why this matters to our students
For us, this is about more than just fundraising. It’s also about:
-
Learning to understand what other people are going through
-
Supporting families who are having a really tough time
-
Seeing how communities can come together to help others
-
Giving students the chance to stand up for something that really matters
