Help me take a stand against blood cancer
Howdy all!
You may or may not know me but I am Jethro Baird and I am proud to be doing the World's Greatest Shave! I am currently an avid year 12 student and I have been growing my hair out since year 9 (it's really long!!). I have decided it is finally time to buzz it off in an effort to do what is right and to aid people facing such a devastating condition as leukemia. 170,000 Australians have leukemia RIGHT NOW, and nearly one person every hour is thrown into the jaws of death from this dreadful condition.
Furthermore, I imagine this topic is hitting very close to home for some readers. You may know of someone affected by leukemia or may have experienced the condition yourself.
And even if you don't have anyone coming to mind, it is likely that people in your community are affected by leukemia, even if it is not obvious.
This situation may seem beyond bleakness, but do you know what you can do?
You can be a LITERAL LIFE SAVER!!! By donating to the World's Greatest Shave, you can fully contribute to saving peoples' lives by aiding cancer research and support services, and do something truly great for our world. So I implore you to donate money, and if you cannot, find friends, family and other community members who are able. Even just spreading the word about this blood cancer and how to help would make me beyond thankful!
My hair is going to be shaved off on the evening of the 31st of March. It will then be donated to Sustainable Salons to be made into a wig for people experiencing medically induced hair loss. Talk about two birds with one stone!
