Three years ago, my Aunty was diagnosed with Cancer. At the time I was 15 years old I felt unable to help in a way that would make a difference not just to my Aunty and her journey ahead but to future families that would be affected in some way by this terrible diagnosis. Regardless of which Cancer a family is affected by Cancer is never biased it does not have a chosen culture, age or sex. So, as a teenager I decided I would grow my hair and donate it as I watched my Aunty lose hers through chemo treatments. Sadly, on the 21st of November 2024, I lost my Aunty to Cancer. After all the treatment, surgeries, chemo, radiation, it still won no matter how hard she fought the fight.
