I'm fundraising for the World's Greatest Shave

The average Australian will go throughout their day never having to ponder the reality of ones own mortality or be shackled in fear for the health of a beloved relative. Victims of blood cancer and their families suffer in silence away from the public consciousness, leaving victims and their families isolated in their plight. One hears such horrific figures as 16 people dying per day in Australia but never truely appreciate the significance of that number's implication. Because that 16 is more than just a statistic, its 16 partners dressed in black watching their beloved being buried, 16 children who will never see their parents again, 16 sets of friends be-mourning the lose of a cherished mate never again to be embraced in the banter of camaraderie. The suffering of blood cancer patients is relentless in its brutality and profoundly demonstrates our societal willingness to ignore hardship until it affects our own lives. The World's Greatest Shave is an opportunity to provide support to those who are really doing it tough, who's day to day experience is of fear and anxiety, hoping for a miracle or even just something to ease the pain for themselves and their families. Every donation, irrespective of magnitude, is another contribution to the fight against blood cancer and will make a real difference in this world.
