40 for Kynie

Forty years have passed,
yet love keeps counting.
A little girl with bright beginnings,
a life that shone far beyond its time.
Born on an October morning,
she taught us courage before she could speak it.

Diagnosed too soon.
Gone too soon.
But never forgotten.

In 1986, Kynie Jean grew her wings.
In 1998, her mum picked up the clippers,
and a promise was made.

To remember.
To fight.
To hope.

Every few years, the hair falls again,
not in grief alone,
but in strength, community, and love.
Four generations have stood together, even Kynie’s Nan, brave at 83,
showing us what legacy truly looks like.

Now we shave again.
Forty people.
Forty years.
One little girl whose name still moves us.

Each shaved head tells a story.
Each dollar raised carries hope.
Each person involved helps change a future.
This is for the children still fighting.
For the families holding on.
For Kynie, whose life continues to ripple outward,
four decades on.

40 for Kynie.
Shave for a cure.
Shave for hope.

Thanks for having your say
