Help us take a stand against blood cancer

The Rockhampton Grammar School First XIII Boys team has supported the World's Greatest Shave since 2017. In 2025, the team raised over $17000 and in total the teams over the years have raised over $40000. Each year, the Friday before Confraternity, the team shaves their head in support of this great cause. The foundation of this initiate in 2017 was to create a bond between players and to understand that while wonderful opportunities like playing in Confraternity can be the highlight of a student’s sporting achievements at school, we can all contribute to causes that have a greater impact on the whole community. This obviously worked for the team in 2017 as they went on to win Confraternity that year. The bonus over the years has been the tradition of this event for the players which creates a conversation point at Confraternity which further promotes this great cause around the wider community during Confraternity.

The 2026 Confraternity Squad will participate in this fundraising endeavour again this year with students shaving their head on Friday the 26th of June before participating in the carnival in Brisbane.

Right now, over 170,000 Australians are facing the devastating impact of blood cancer, and 17 lose their life every single day.
