About the Event

What is this event all about?

People pledge to shave or colour their hair anytime from 13-15 March 2008. To raise money you ask for sponsorship from everyone you know to see you with a shaved head or coloured hair. Because it’s normally seen as a sacrifice, as well as good fun, it’s usually fairly easy to raise money.

Some people do it on their own – it’s more fun if a group of you do it together. Think of getting your work mates, friends, family, business contacts or school together and have fun! Why not hold an inter-office challenge with other state or regional offices in your company?

Who participates in the event?

Anyone can participate in the World's Greatest Shave (WGS), including individuals, teams, schools, community groups, clubs, and companies.

There is also no age limit for participants, but minors who are younger than 18 years old need their parents’ permission to participate. Click here to download the consent form.

I’ve heard about the WGS, how do I become involved?

If you would like to register to participate, click here to enter your details and a kit will be sent out to you in 5-10 days. Inside the kit are instructions and a receipt book so you can start collecting sponsorship.

You then need to shave or colour your hair sometime during 13-15 March 2008 and raise funds by collecting donations (sponsorship) for the Leukaemia Foundation.
